1) Oscailt

WMOF2018 Lá a hAon (Dé Máirt an 21 Lúnasa 2018)

Searmanas Oscailte Chruinniú Domhanda na dTeaghlach 2018 (21 Lúnasa 2018)

Téama - Is é Lúcháir an Ghrá i dTeaghlaigh Lúcháir na hEaglaise chomh maith

Beidh Searmanas Oscailte do Chruinniú Domhanda na dTeaghlach 2018 ar siúl ag an am céanna tráthnóna Dé Máirt an 21 Lúnasa i 26 Deoise na hÉireann (tá an t-am fós le deimhniú). Beidh an príomhshearmanas ar siúl i mBaile Átha Cliath.

Sa Liotúirge Oscailte béidh ceiliúradh iomlán ar Urnaí an Trathnóna. Leis an teideal “Le chéíle le Críost” cruinneoidh sé an Eaglais mar theaghlach na dteaghlach, agus cuirfidh sé ar chasán an cheiliúrtha muid do Chruinniú iomlán na dTeaghlach suas go dtí an tAifreann Pápach a chuirfeas deireadh leis an gCruinniú ar an 26ú Lúnasa. Béidh sé ar siúl i ngach deoise sa tír, de ghnáth san Ard-Eaglais, agus tá súil againn go gceiliúrfar leaganacha athleasaithe den urnaí i ngach teach pobail paróiste agus séipeal cúnta agus sa bhaile le teaghlaigh.

Tosóimíd an ceiliúradh ag cuimhneamh go bhfuil muid ag siúl i gcoiscéimeanna na naomh agus na ndaoine a d’fhág an creideamh mar oidhreacht againn. Cuirimíd failte roimh Chríost, ár síor-sholas, canaimíd iomainn, sailm agus laoithe, dóimíd túis agus guímíd ar son an teaghlaigh dhaonna ar fad ós comhair ár nDia agus ár nAthar.

Tá an urnaí seo iomlán éacúiméineach agus tá sé i gceist cheana gur mhaith leis na hEaglaisí Críostaí uilig bheith linn tré chloigíní eaglaise a bhualadh nuair a bhéas tús a chur leis an Urnaí Trathnóna ar fud an oileáin.

Beidh seans ag go leor dár dToscairí agus dár gCainteoirí idirnáisiúnta bheith rannpháirteach le Pobail Aitiúlá trasna thír na hÉireann ag an Imeacht seo.

Imeacht: Opening Ceremony of the World Meeting of Families 2018
Ionad:  Cathedral of the Annunciation and Saint Nathy, Ballaghaderreen, County Roscommon
Uaireanta: 8.00pm
Sonraí: This special celebration, on the evening of August 21st, will be a gathering of all twenty-three parishes of the diocese - eleven in County Mayo, eleven in County Sligo, and the Cathedral Parish of Ballaghaderreen in County Roscommon. This diocesan event will focus on the life of the Venerable Fr. Patrick Peyton, CSC, a native of our diocese, a priest of the Congregation of Sancta Croce (the Holy Cross), and known with great international renown as 'the Rosary Priest'. The evening in the Cathedral will have as its theme the message Fr. Peyton brought to the world, "The family that prays together, stays together" and "A world at prayer is a world at peace". Fr. Patrick Peyton has recently been declared by the Vatican with the title, 'Venerable', a further step on the path towards Beatification and Canonisation. He was born in the rural parish of Attymass in our diocese, near Ballina, Co. Mayo in 1909 and he died in Los Angeles, USA in 1992 after a remarkable life of dedication and prayer spent in the service of the Gospel, promoting the recitation of the Rosary by families at rallies, attracting hundreds of thousands of people all over the world. The celebration in the Cathedral in Ballaghaderreen on August 21st will include an Entrance Procession into the Cathedral, led by bearers carrying a Statue of Our Lady of Knock, and accompanied by a representative from each parish holding a banner with the parish name of each of those twenty three that form our diocese. Twenty three young people, one from each parish, will also walk in the procession carrying posies of flowers. At the end of the Procession the Statue of Our Lady will be put in a suitably prepared place in the Sanctuary, and the young people will place their flowers around it. The celebration includes the recitation of the Rosary with a scripture reading on each of the mysteries, all led by families from our diocese. And there will be liturgical music and singing throughout. The prayer intentions of this Rosary will have a link with the life of Fr. Peyton and our own family life with reflective thoughts on the importance of Prayer in Fr.Peyton's family home in Attymass: praying for our families; Emigration: praying for family members away from home; Vocation: living our vocation in family; Sickness: praying for family members who are sick. Fr Peyton's worldwide message: praying for the fruits of the World Meeting of Families. A short slideshow has been compiled also showing video footage of interviews with Fr Peyton and his message on Family prayer. Rosary beads will be freely distributed. All are welcome to this special celebration which will hopefully be a memorable moment in marking the World Meeting of Families 2018 in our diocese.
