Behind the planning and management of these large events is an experienced and professional management team with the essential range of skills and depth of knowledge required to plan, co-ordinate and manage the single largest public occasion in Ireland in 2018.
The management team is supported by a committed and skilled staff as well as thousands of volunteers who have signed up to help make the 9th World Meeting of Families in Dublin, Ireland a wonderful-faith-filled occasion.
In addition to staff and volunteers, we are working with many industry suppliers and government departments that are bringing significant skills and experience to this project.
Meet the Team

Le Révérendissime Diarmuid Martin, D.D, D.Litt (h.c.)
Diarmuid Martin is the Archbishop of Dublin and Primate of Ireland. He is a native of Dublin and was ordained to the priesthood in May 1969. Most of his ministry as a priest was spent in the service of the Holy See, initially at the Pontifical Council for the Family and subsequently at the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, of which he was Secretary. He was ordained bishop by Pope John Paul in 1999. In 2001 he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio to the United Nations Institutions in Geneva. Archbishop Martin returned to Dublin as co-adjutor Archbishop in 2003 and succeeded Cardinal Desmond Connell as Archbishop of Dublin in April 2004. Archbishop Martin is currently Vice-President of the Irish Episcopal Conference, Chairman of the Department of Social Issues and International Affairs and Chairman of the Bishops’ Commission on Europe. He is a Member of the Council of the General Secretary of the Synod of Bishops and of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications. He is co-moderator of the Joint Working Group for Relations between the Roman Catholic Church and the World Council of Churches.
Sécrétaire Général: Père Timothy Bartlett
Fr Timothy Bartlett is Secretary General for the 9th World Meeting of Families, which will take place in Ireland from 21 to 26 August 2018 on the theme The Gospel of the Family: Joy for the World. Fr Bartlett is also Episcopal Vicar for Education, and the Director of Public and Social Affairs, in the Diocese of Down and Connor and is also Secretary to the Northern Bishops. He previously worked as assistant to the President of the Irish Bishops’ Conference, having spent 10 years before that as alecturer in theology at St Mary’s University College, Belfast.

Anne is an Event Industry awards winner, with over 20 years’ senior business management experience. As the General Manager, Anne has an involvement with all areas of World Meeting of Families, as well as the management of over 50 staff and several over 6,000 thousand volunteers. Experienced in the co-ordination of large-scale events, she was previously General Manager for the IEC2012 in Dublin, Consultant Operations Advisor to the IEC2016, held in The Philippines, and continues to work overseas in a consultancy role for the Pontifical Committee for IECs. Previous roles include Operations Director with MCI Dublin, Abbey Conference and Corporate and the Heart and Lung Transplant Association where she was responsible for delivering International & World events in Ireland and across many locations around the world.

An Arts graduate of University College Dublin, Jill is a skilled administrator and communicator. She brings extensive experience to WMOF2018 in working to deadline and within budget while liaising with numerous departments and personnel. Jill has many years’ experience in independent film and television production and worked as a crowd casting co-ordinator on feature films including Neil Jordan’s ‘The Butcher Boy’ and Jim Sheridan’s ‘The Boxer’. She has also worked with many audio-visual production companies including Jam Media on their children’s series ‘Roy’ for CBBC, Sky’s ‘Moone Boy’ and RTÉ’s first series of ‘Striking Out’.

Laura has extensive experience in creative event management, strategy, operations, production and logistics. Having worked in the industry since 2006, Laura is now the owner/manager of Event Wise, a professional event services management company. Laura has in-depth knowledge of public events, procurement and supplier negotiation and held the role of Logistics Manager for theIEC2012 in Dublin. Previous events include Special Olympic Ireland Games, Food on the Edge, International Test Rugby Aviva Stadium, Street Spectacles, Parades, Concerts, Conferences and more.

Prior to her role with WMOF2018, she worked with the International Humanitarian organisation, GOAL and was their Chief Financial Officer for 8 years.

Teresa is responsible for WMOF2018 brand management, overseeing graphic design, promotional material, merchandising, electronic and physical newsletters and mailings, the WMOF2018 website (in 5 languages), social media channels and smartphone applications. Teresa brings a wealth of experience to the event as she was also the Marketing and Publications Manager for the 50th International Eucharistic Congress 2012 in Dublin, which attracted 150,000 national and international attendees from 114 different countries. Prior to this, she was Marketing Officer for The Helix and coordinator of Communications and Institutional Relations for the Cultural Centre of the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina. Teresa holds a first-class honours MA in Cultural Policy and Arts Management and a BA in Social Communications as well as third level qualifications in Catechesis and Theology.

Brenda is on secondment to the WMOF2018 from the Catholic Communications Office, the press and media office of the Irish Episcopal Conference, where she has been based for 17 years as Communications Officer. In her role with WMOF2018, she is responsible for managing and co-ordinating all aspects of media and communications. This includes print, broadcast and social media. Brenda hosted her own religion radio programme for seven years and brings this broadcast experience to the production of the official WMOF2018 podcast ‘Let’s Talk Family’ which she produces and presents. Brenda has been at the forefront of promoting the use of digital media by the Church, and has worked with numerous parishes and dioceses in this area. Veritas Publishers will shortly publish Brenda’s second book which is entitled The Digital Parish. Brenda also writes the monthly ‘Get Connected’ column in Intercom magazine.

Speaker Programme Manager: Hannah Evans
Hannah joined the WMOF2018 team on secondment from her role as Church Outreach Officer with Trocaire, CARITAS Ireland. In her role for WMOF2018 Hannah and her team manage all of the guest speakers and programme participants for the Pastoral Programme. She brings with her vast pastoral and liturgical experience of working within the Church at both a national and international level. She has written many of Trocaire's pastoral and liturgical resources, as well as being involved with numerous public speaking events and workshops throughout parishes in Ireland. Before this, Hannah worked as a Parish Pastoral Worker for the Archdiocese of Dublin. She is currently Director of Music in Dunboyne Parish, Co. Meath. Hannah has an MA in Liturgy and Sacred Music, a Graduate Diploma in CSPE (Civic Social and Political Education) and Music Education, as well as a Bachelor in Theology and Music and a Diploma in Pastoral Ministry.

Chef de Projet des volontaires: Richard Brennan
Richard is responsible for recruiting, co-ordinating and training for over 6,000 volunteers for all aspects of WMOF2018. Richard has comprehensive recruitment, fundraising and sales experience, having held roles as Fundraising Senior Manager and Donor Development Manager with Arthritis Ireland, and Sales and Fundraising Manager positions with Concern Worldwide. In his roles, Richard has managed and co-ordinated fundraising activities, worked with Communications and Corporate Partnership teams and liaised with Service and Advocacy teams. He has managed a team of up to 60 fundraising staff in offices in Dublin, Cork and Galway, with responsibility for training, staff coaching and development.
