1. When and where will tickets for Knock and Phoenix Park be available to book?

Tickets for Knock Shrine and the Phoenix Park are available from Monday 25th June 2018. All tickets must be booked via the World Meeting of Families 2018 website. Book your tickets here.  Please note: Booking has now closed for tickets to attend Pope Francis' visit to Knock Shrine.

2. What is the ticket issue for Knock Shrine and Phoenix Park? 

  • The ticket issue for Knock Shrine is 45,000.
  • The ticket issue for the Closing Mass in Phoenix Park is 500,000.

3. Is there a separate process for booking as a group, family, individual, priest? 

Yes, when you go to the tickets page for the event you want to book you will be given the option to book as:

  • A Group coming on a private coach and applying for a coach parking permit
  • An individual booking or family booking
  • Clergy (bishops/priests)

4. What is the limit on the number of tickets per single booking? 

  • For Phoenix Park:  
    - There is a limit of 12 tickets per booking for those who access the system by the individual registration. [People can repeat book if they require further tickets].
    - There is a limit of 8 coaches for those who are booking groups of people who will be travelling on a private coach and who are requesting coach parking permits. 
     
  • For Knock Shrine: There is a limit of 8 tickets per booking. UPDATE: Booking has now closed for tickets to attend Pope Francis'  visit to Knock Shrine.

5. How do I get my parish group booked for the Phoenix Park Mass? 

We ask that groups who have already booked a coach or those who intend to book a coach to come into the ticket system via the group booking option. Once in this section the group leader will be able to book all their tickets for the Phoenix Park final Mass and book their coach parking permit for their entire group.  

Important note: There is no need for those individuals going to the Mass via a pre booked place on a private coach to book their ticket separately as they will already be included in the group booking.

6. Will there be a transport plan in place for Knock and the Phoenix Park? 

Yes, there will be a full transport plan in place for both venues. You will not be able to drive up to or park near the venue but there will be park and ride or park and walk facilities available. 7. What special accessibility arrangements are in place for those who need supported access? 

Given the unique scale of this event, the WMOF2018 is currently engaged with disability organisations in relation to the provision of supported access for those who would like to attend the event at Knock Shrine or the Closing Mass in the Phoenix Park. Subject to their advice and available space and resources, a limited number of supported access tickets will be available. If an applicant does not qualify for supported access, they will be entitled to a standard individual ticket.

The options that will be available are as follows: 

  • A space in a reserved section for one person and their carer. [Spaces here will be extremely limited]  
  • A space in one of the main corrals as part of a family or group.

8. Will my ticket be transferrable? 

Tickets for Knock Shrine will be printed and will have the name of the person who made the booking on the ticket. These tickets are not transferrable. 

Tickets for Phoenix Park will have a unique bar code and must have a verified email address associated with them. Tickets are transferrable within a group booking.

9. Will tickets be printed or sent by email? 

Tickets for Knock Shrine will be printed and posted to those who have booked them. 

Tickets for the Phoenix Park will be sent by email and will be print-at-home. The tickets for Phoenix park can only be offered as print at home because it would be cost prohibitive to print and post this number of tickets due to the size and scale of the event.

10. When will tickets be received?

At the time of booking you will receive an email to confirm that your booking has been successful. You will receive your tickets for Phoenix Park by 10th August. Tickets for Knock Shrine will be posted before the 10th August.

11. If I am a cardinal, a bishop, a priest or a deacon, do I need to register to attend any of the events?
Yes, everyone needs a ticket. Cardinals, Bishops, Priests and Deacons need a ticket to attend any of the events of World Meeting of Families 2018. If you are a member of the clergy, you will also be required to upload a photo, so that you can be issued with a pass which allows the level of access you will require. Full information will be emailed to you once you have registered in the appropriate category.  There is a subsequent additional registration document* required for Priests & Deacons as they will need to be accredited in order to concelebrate Mass or exercise any sacred ministry at WMOF2018.

This document will be emailed to the applicant following initial registration in the Priest/Deacons category. It must be completed to obtain accreditation in order to exercise any sacred ministry at WMOF2018.  Note: The registration process is not complete until this document has been processed by WMOF2018 and the applicant notified by email. In this document, the applicant completes section 1, then sends the entire document, including the notes on page 3 to his Bishop or Major Superior for completion of sections 2 & 3. The Bishop/Major Superior should then forward both a soft (emailed) and a hard copy (posted) of the completed document to the WMOF2018 offices. Full instructions are detailed in the document.

12. If I am working in the media, do I need to register to attend any of the events?
Members of the media who wish to cover WMOF2018 events and have access to our daily media briefings will require media accreditation.

Do I need a ticket to attend any event of WMOF2018?
Yes, every person who wishes to attend, both adults and children, need to register for WMOF2018. All events require a ticket for entry. Some events are free while some are subject to a fee but tickets are needed for all events.

How do I book a ticket to attend World Meeting of Families 2018?
World Meeting of Families’ events will require a ticket and you will need to complete a registration form on our website to have access to tickets.

Is there a fee to attend WMOF2018?
All events require tickets; some events will be free; others will be subject to a fee. The Festival of Families and the Final Mass are free ticketed events. There is a fee for adults to attend the Congress from 22-24 August in the RDS; this fee includes guarenteed access to the free tickets for the Festival of Families and the Final Mass. Childrens tickets are free and must be booked. Information on how to access single event free tickets for the Festival of Families and the Final Mass is not available at the moment.

What is the fee to attend the Congress from 22nd to 24th August? 

The fees for the Congress vary by type of registration: 

  • 5 day adult tickets range from €68 online to €78 on the day (3 day Congress registration, Festival of Family and Final Mass tickets.)
  • 1 day adult tickets range from €38 online to €43 on the day. (1 day Congress registration, Festival of Families - subject to availability - and Final Mass tickets.)
  • Single day Concession (for pensioners, unwaged & students over 18) range from €33 online to €38 on the day. (1 day Congress registration, Festival of Families - subject to availability - and Final Mass tickets.)
  • Tickets for children under 18 years of age are free but registration with a family group/group is required. (5 day or 1 day Congress registration, Festival of Families - subject to availability - and Final Mass tickets.)

What types of registrations are available to attend the Congress?

There are five types of registration:

  • Family Group (at least one adult, any number of children)
  • Individual Adult Registration
  • Bishop/Cardinal Registration
  • Priest/Deacon Registration
  • Group Registration (Parish/Diocese, Organisation)

Will there be any special prices for pensioners and students to attend the Congress?
Yes, there are special prices available for students over 18 years if age, as well as pensioners. Single day concessions to the Congress will be discounted. Children under 18 years of age are free but registration with a family group/group is required. The following is a full list of the registration prices:

  • 5 day adult tickets range from €68 online to €78 on the day (3 day Congress registration, Festival of Family and Final Mass tickets.)
  • 1 day adult tickets range from €38 online to €43 on the day. (1 day Congress registration, Festival of Families - subject to availability - and Final Mass tickets.)

Can I register as part of a group?
Yes, if you wish to register with your family or as a parish, diocesan or organisation group, someone in your group should register all the participants together.

Can we register as a family?
Yes, there is a family registration link available. A family registration is one or more adults and any number of children. The fee is calculated based on the individual adult fees and children under 18 years of age listed will be free.

How many people constitute a “group” booking and what other requirements must a group meet?
A group is one or more adults and any number of children up to any size, for example a parish group.  The fee is calculated based on the individual adult fees and children under 18 years of age listed will be free.

Are there any group discounts tickets for the events that require a fee available?
There are no group discounts available, but we have worked hard to keep the prices low for adults and free for children to allow as many people as possible to attend the WMOF2018 Congress.

How do I register a group and book accommodation for it?
There is a full range of accommodation listed on the accommodation section of our website. Have a look at the page and, when you are ready to book, you can go to the registration page on our website and select “Register Now” next to “Group Registration.” Accommodation requirements can be listed at time of registration and will be made through the same booking form. Alternatively, groups and families can contact the Tickets and Accommodations Office to book their accommodation.

If a bishop, priest or deacon wants to go as part of a group, does he register with the clergy registration or the group registration?
When registering a group, the group leader will be able to select that there is a member of the clergy within the group. The group leader will be given further instruction on how to proceed with the clergy registration as there are further details required for this type of registration.

Is there a booking deadline? 
All events require tickets; some events will be free; others will be subject to a fee. As some events have limited availability due to the venue capacity and we are already experiencing demand for tickets, we recommend that you book as soon as possible. Online registration will close as soon as all the tickets are sold. On the day registration will only be available for the Congress subject to availability on that day.

How can I book accommodation?
Accommodation can be booked at time of registration and will be made through the same booking form. More accommodation information can be found here. Alternatively, groups and families can contact the Registration and Accommodations Office to book their accommodation. We have secured special limited accommodation rates for groups and individuals registering for WMOF2018.

Will there be a possibility to stay in host family homes? How do I avail of this option?
We are in the process of asking Irish Families to offer accommodation to visiting pilgrims. Further information will be made available at a later date. We cannot guarantee what numbers of volunteers will be able to offer accommodation at this point. This could be quite limited.

Are flights included in the registration fee?
No, flights are not included in WMOF2018 registration fee.

Is accommodation included in the registration fee?
The price of accommodation is not included in the registration fees. However, you can book accommodation at time of registration through the same booking form. Alternatively, groups and families can contact the Tickets and Accommodations Office to book their accommodation.

Are lunch and dinner included in the Congress registration fee?
No, we have kept registration low and have not included meals with Congress registration. However, various options for lunch will be available to buy for cash at the Congress venue or you can pre purchase vouchers for lunch to the value of €10 per lunch per day. Hotel bookings through our site will include breakfast and there is a wide range of dinner options in the city.

I want to attend WMOF2018 but I cannot pay the fees, can I participate all the same?
While all events require tickets, some events are free of charge. If you cannot afford the cost of those that require a fee, such as the three day Congress, please contact the bishop’s office in your diocese to see if there are any funds available in your country for these circumstances. WMOF2018 has very limited funds available for this purpose and will only be able to deal with requests received from the Episcopal Conferences from around the world. If you are in Ireland, please contact your diocesan representative.

I have paid the booking fee but I will not be able to go, will I be able to be refunded?
 
Registration/ticket cancellation policies are as follows:  

  • Up to the 31st March 2018: Full refund less administration fee of €20 per person.
  • From the 1st April to 31st May 2018: 50% cancellation fee applies plus administration fee of €25 per person.
  • Cancellations after 1st June 2018: No refund.

If I book a one-day ticket for the Pastoral Congress can I go on any of the three days of the event?
Day tickets to the Pastoral Congress in the RDS are for a specific date and only valid on that date.

If I register for the Pastoral Congress and cannot attend, can someone else use my ticket?
Tickets are non-transferable. All pilgrims who register for the Congress will be issued with a name badge. If a pilgrim wishes to transfer their registration to another person, they should contact the registration and booking office. This may incur a small administration charge.

I have paid my accommodation but I will not be able to go, will I be able to be refunded?
Our Registration and Accommodation Office is run by Abbey Tours. Booking for accommodation and the terms and conditions are with Abbey Tours and not with WMOF2018. We have worked with Abbey Tours to get the best terms and conditions and cancellation policies that are possible within the Irish accommodation market.

Individual Hotel Bookings: 
  • Cancellations up to 31st March: Full refund of hotel deposit payment less administration fee of 10% of deposit payment. 
  • Cancellations from 1st April to 31st May 2018: 50% cancellation fee applies of full booking.
  • Cancellations after 1st June 2018: No refund.

Group Hotel Bookings 
  • Cancellations up to 31st March: Full refund of hotel deposit payment less administration fee of 25% (of scheduled deposit).
  • Cancellations from 1st April to 31st May 2018: 50% cancellation fee applies (of the scheduled deposit).
  • Cancellations after 1st June 2018: No refund.
Touring Family/Group Booking 
  • Cancellations up to 31st March: Full refund of hotel deposit payment less administration fee of 25% (of scheduled deposit).
  • Cancellations from 1st April to 31st May 2018: 50% cancellation fee applies (of the scheduled deposit).
  • Cancellations after 1st June 2018: No refund.

I do not have access to a computer, is there any other way that I can book to attend WMOF2018?
Please note you must have an email address to book. If you do not have an email address, perhaps a friend or family member can allow you to use theirs. We need an email address where we can send your booking confirmation. We cannot send you your booking confirmation by post. We will also email you details where you can collect your pilgrim pack and badge for the Congress if you have booked for this event and your registration includes these items.

Can a child register on their own?
No, entry for children under 18 is free but they must be registered as part of a family or group; they cannot register on their own.

How will I receive my confirmation booking for the WMOF2018 Congress?
You will receive a confirmation of your booking via email and will be able to collect your registration pack at the Congress venue when you bring this along. You will also receive your pre booked ticket for the Festival of Families and Final Mass. Information for booking and access to single tickets for Festival of Families or Final Mass only is currently not available.

Will each group member get their own booking confirmation, or will there be one booking confirmation per group?
There will be one confirmation booking issued per group. The group leader will be required to collect the packs and badges for all the group and distribute them among its members. Group leaders will be emailed the details for how they can pick up the packs and badges for their group.

My registration for the Congress includes a pilgrim pack, when will I receive this?
If your registration includes a pilgrim pack, you will receive yours, along with your badge upon handing in your confirmation when you arrive on the first day.

Can pilgrim packs be bought separately?
No, pilgrim packs will be handed out to those who have registered for the full five day ticket.

You can book for 5 days or a single day to attend the Congress.
