In choosing music, the Liturgy Committee has prioritised repertoire that maximises congregational involvement, drawing on the “Sing the Mass” publication and including works by Irish composers so that our native culture is well represented. For example, the Eucharistic Acclamations for Masses at the Pastoral Congress in the RDS feature Bernard Sexton’s ‘Mass of Renewal’, as this is included in the “Grow in Love” Primary Schools Religion Programme.

Call for Youth Choirs

The closing date for applications is also Friday 18th May 2018. Please send these applications directly to our Liturgical Music Coordinator, Derek Mahady at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please also include information relating to special requirements/access.

Can I just attend and sing with my Parish from the general seating area?
If you or your choir would prefer to travel to the World Meeting of Families events along with your parish or diocesan groupings and sing from your place in the congregation, particularly at the Papal Mass, we heartily encourage this.
Singers and Choirs can easily register to attend the Pastoral Congress as a pilgrim group in the RDS in the normal way and book a place through the World Meeting of Families 2018 webpage. This enables individuals and groups to travel with their parish and become much needed music animators within their own community groupings.
