Let's Talk Family, Let's Be Family this Advent!
The first day of Advent heralds the beginning of the Catholic Church’s new year.
Advent (from ‘ad-venire’ in Latin or “to come to”) is the Church season encompassing the four Sundays and weekdays leading up to the celebration of Christmas. Advent is a time of spiritual preparation for the Lord’s coming at Christmas. Advent also prepares us for the second coming of Christ at the end of time.
This year’s Advent Calendar will have a special focus on family as we prepare together for next year’s World Meeting of Families in Dublin from 21 – 26 August.
Each day during Advent we are inviting you to click open a virtual door where you will find content for family, school and parish.
This year on our Advent Calendar we are inviting families to take special time out together to pray, to talk, and to be together.
We are also inviting family members to take on our daily act of kindness or charity and by doing so to reach out and help those around us. We hope you will be part of our journey through Advent this year.
Note: The virtual doors above cannot be opened ahead of their actual date. All content will go live in the early hours of each morning.
