Biographies 

H.E. Cardinal Peter Turkson, Prefect of the Dicastery for Integral Human Development

Born in 1948 in Ghana, Cardinal Peter K.A. Turkson studied theology at St Anthony-on-Hudson Seminary in New York and was ordained a priest in 1975. He did graduate studies at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome, 1976-80 and 1987-92. In 1992 he was appointed Archbishop of Cape Coast by St John Paul II and made Cardinal in 2003. He was President of the Ghana Catholic Bishops' Conference 1997-2005, and since 2003 has been Chancellor of the Catholic University College of Ghana. He served as Relator during the II Synod of Bishops for Africa in October 2009. At the end of the Synod, Pope Benedict XVI named Cardinal Turkson as President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, reconfirmed by Pope Francis in 2013. Cardinal Turkson has been appointed by Pope Francis as first Prefect of the new Dicastery for promoting Integral Human Development.

Dr Gordian Gudenus, Partner and Director of Bank Gutmann Ag, Vienna, Austria

Dr. Gordian Franz Gudenus was born in Vienna in 1953 and spent his youth in Italy, Egypt, Lebanon and Austria.  He studied Archeology and Semitic Philology and obtained a Doctorate in law in Vienna. He and his wife Maria Anna v.Elverfeldt have 6 children and 2 grandchildren.  Gordian is executive Partner and director of Bank Gutmann AG, Vienna,  a family business since 1922. Over 30 years active in banking he was executive manager of private banks in Italy and Austria. Gordian’s professional focus is on Ethical Investors and Family Businesses. He is a Board Member of Stiftung Pro Oriente, and of Stella Kindergruppen, and President of AMAL, a NGO for the Integration of Refugees from the Middle East.  In 2017 he initiated a dialogue between Family Business Owners from the Global Association of Family Businesses and the Vatican Dicasteries For Promoting Integral Human Development and Laity, Family and Life.

Valentine Fievet, Vice-Chairperson of the Supervisory Board at Unibel, S.A.

Valentine Fievet is a member of the supervisory board of Unibel S.A. holding of the Bel Group.  Bel is a family-owned company currently led by the fifth generation of family managers.
