Conflict happens in every relationship. The important thing is how you deal with it. This workshop will explore good and bad conflict styles and will demonstrate how a positive and structured approach to conflict resolution can strengthen a relationship. This is an interactive workshop on interpersonal skills that can help navigate the challenges of contemporary marriage and family life.
Fr Philip Bradley, ACCORD
Fr Philip Bradley Adm VF, has been a priest of the Archdiocese of Dublin for the last 31 years. He began to develop his interest in Marriage counselling while ordained deacon. He was chaplain to many marriage courses with the Catholic Marriage Advisory Service (CMAC) from 1990 to 1996. Philip was invited to join the staff of CMAC/Accord in 1997 and trained in Marriage Facilitation, doing further training in Pastoral Supervision for the Marriage Care Teams. In the course of 21 years of work in Marriage Preparation he has been part of the Editorial team of several Marriage Preparation Manuals. Fr Philip is Parish Priest of St Joseph’s Parish, Terenure, Dublin.
Terry Kelly, ACCORD
Terry Kelly has been an Accord Marriage Preparation facilitator in the Dublin Diocese for the past 14 years. She is married to Noel and they have one son. Terry has worked with over four thousand couples, helping them prepare for their married life together. Through her work for Accord Terry has been able to gather insight and knowledge about how conflict in marriage can be managed to strengthen relationships and she enjoys sharing this with the many couples she works with. Terry is also part of the Accord Marriage Preparation Course Review Committee.
ACCORD N. Ireland Catholic Marriage Care Service CLG is an agency of the Catholic Church providing a service to couples preparing for or seeking a deeper commitment within the Sacrament of Marriage. ACCORD is a voluntary organisation serving people primarily in the area of marriage and family relationships. As a service agency of the dioceses and in accordance with the teaching of the Catholic Church on marriage and family life, it aims to promote a better understanding of the Sacrament of marriage and to help people initiate, sustain and enrich their marriage and family relationships
