(Hall 8D) – EN 🎧 ES
Presenter: Caroline Dollard, Marriage & Life Advisor, Catholics Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales and Bishop Peter Doyle, Bishop of Northampton
“Marriage preparation should be a kind of “initiation” to the sacrament of matrimony, providing couples with the help they need to receive the sacrament worthily and to make a solid beginning of life as a family (AL, 207) […this should also] provide couples with the names of places, people and services to which they can turn for help when problems arise” (AL, 211). This is an interactive workshop facilitated by the Marriage and Family Life Office, Bishops Conference of England & Wales, UK.
Caroline Dollard, Marriage & Life Advisor, Catholics Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales.
Caroline Dollard is Marriage & Family Life Adviser to Bishops’ Conference of England & Wales. As a parent and now grandparent, immersion in family life for 40 years has been the seedbed for Caroline’s engagement in family ministry. She passionately believes that through conversation, walking together, heightened awareness and listening, the Church is enriched by families. Saying ‘yes’ to love is a mystery God invites us all into, and families can show us the way. The hopeful love lived out in families is a treasure for the Church today. Having studied pastoral theology and catechesis, with a Master’s in Liturgy, Caroline has worked in parish, diocesan and national roles in Christian initiation, faith development, spirituality and liturgical formation. This rich experience has enabled her to research and connect the many strands of family ministry across homes, parishes and schools. She joined the Bishops’ Conference Marriage & Family Life Office in 2014.
