A common challenge for families today is how to integrate technology positively as a growing reality in our daily lives, as well as remain alert to some of the dangers. This will be an interactive presentation on turning technology to the good in our world and in our homes.
Prof. Mary Aiken is a Cyberpsychologist. She is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Geary Institute for Public Policy, UCD, Ireland; an Academic Advisor to Europol's European Cyber Crime Centre; a Global Fellow at the Wilson Center for research and dialogue on global issues; a lecturer in Criminology and Fellow at the School of Law, Middlesex University and a Fellow of the Society for Chartered IT Professionals. She is a member of the INTERPOL Group on Crimes against Children. In 2016 she was named as one of the top 50 most inspiring women in technology in Europe, and in 2017 she was inducted into the Infosecurity Europe Hall of Fame. Mary co-led the successful 2018 campaign to legislate for 16 as the Irish Digital Age of Consent. Mary’s work inspired the CBS TV series CSI: Cyber. Her book The Cyber Effect was a The Times 2016 ‘book of the year’.
