The World Meeting of Families comes to Ireland! Dublin, Ireland, has been chosen by Pope Francis to host the next World Meeting of Families in August 2018. This major world event celebrates family as the cornerstone of our lives, and the fundamental building block of society and the Church. Families from all over the world will gather in Dublin from 21-26 August 2018 programme of workshops, talks and discussions for adults; an engaging and exciting programme for young people as well as faith and fun activities for children. WMOF2018 will include the daily celebration of Mass, a festival of families’ event, exhibitions, cultural events, musical performances and events around the country.

World Meeting of Families 2018 Limited by Guarantee is a company set up to plan and deliver the scheduled events in 2018. We are a small friendly energetic team and will at various times be looking to add more staff to work with us in the preparations for the events in August 2018. We look for candidates who enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment and who can bring the skill we need to deliver this exciting event in August 2018. All positions are on a contract basis.

Role: Multimedia Content Editor

The Multimedia Content Editor will support the production and editing of content for the Marketing Department, proofread and ensure texts are well written. This will include creating, editing and uploading content to the WMOF2018 website, blog, app and social media platforms, as well as supporting the creation of publications, promotional materials and mailings.

Role: Junior Receptionist and Administration Support for the Volunteer Department

The Junior Receptionist and Administration Support will provide an effective and efficient reception service to WMOF2018 Volunteer Department. This will include: carry out the day to day administration of reception and respond to emails, greet all visitors, organise and manage daily rotas, tasks and time sheets. This is a representational role and a high standard of self-presentation is expected. Must be able to demonstrate teamwork. Understanding of confidential issues and use of discretion is key. Database experience would be an advantage.

Role: Event Services and Logistics Coordinator

The Event Services and Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the management and delivery of an efficient logistics service for the successful implementation of the World Meeting of Families 2018 Events. This will include the support of process for planning, purchasing and supply of goods and event services for the WMOF2018. Good project management skills and event experience required.

Intern Opportunities

Working alongside our staff, students on our internship programme have the opportunity to apply their knowledge and gain confidence from practical experience and mentoring. A small number of Internships will be offered for between 6 to 9 months, working in several different areas

  • Marketing and Communications
  • Events Services
  • Logistics
  • Office Management and Administration


Essential Requirements

You must be a student of a graduate programme relevant to one of the areas we require. You must have Fluent English to a business level, excellent written, verbal and communication skills. Non-Irish citizens must have relevant documentation to be involved in an internship in Ireland. You must have a commitment to the values of World Meeting of Families 2018.

The Commitment

This is an unpaid 6 or 9-month internship. However, there will be a small allowance to cover transport and lunch. The intern will be based in our office in Dublin for 5 days per week. WMOF2018 office provides a highly motivating working environment and an opportunity to be involved in a world Event. WMOF2018 will provide office space, support meetings, training where possible and references. Occasional weekend and evening work hours may be required as part of this position. Each intern will work on a specific project, dealing with tasks related to their knowledge and expectations.
