When we have an important event in our life, for example, a wedding, we always take time to plan it down to the very last detail. Very importantly, we also prepare for the event mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
The journey to WMOF2018 has started and, similarly, we are planning all that it will entail and how we will prepare for it spiritually.
Amoris: Let’s talk about family programme Catechesis to Prepare for WMOF2018
The WMOF2018 is more than a once-off event. Rather it is a process by which we can celebrate and explore the riches of the Church’s “Gospel of the Family”. This is why we have developed a programme of catechesis/faith education to prepare for the event, which draws largely from the Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia (The Joy of Love), published by Pope Francis in March 2016, following the Synods on the family held in 2014 and 2015.
The Amoris: Let’s talk about family Programme is an interactive multimedia catechetical platform of resources that will be available through our website and a dedicated app, in due course. We hope that this programme will be used by many families, individuals and groups, local Churches and across the world.
In the next months we will be posting here many other resources to enrich this journey. We encourage you to use them in your homes, parishes, schools, groups and organisations.
We also invite you to join in particular events that will be taking place around Ireland and the world as a means of preparing for WMOF2018. Some will be organised by us, some by the different dioceses, parishes, movements and individuals. Please email us in relation any preparatory event for WMOF2018 that you may be organising so that we can let other people know and join in.
